PERSPECTIVE

We've all had those days when we wanted to give up and hide. Whoever said, "Life is not easy," knew something about facing challenges or opposition. Let's face it: life is hard, and we are not given a step-by-step human manual to navigate our trials. However, what if there was something you could do that instantly changed the way you felt and thought?

Believe it or not, the mind is powerful! Mindset and choosing to process feelings and challenges differently significantly change how we perceive the obstacles we face. A positive thought process is underrated! I have had my share of moments where I wanted to crawl under a rock and hide.

Picture this: I had finished my three-hour meeting with a client and said my goodbyes as I walked to my car, ready for my two-hour drive back home. I will never forget how hot the Texas heat was that day or the surprise of so many bells and lights on my dashboard. There, I was stranded two hours from home and, to add to the insult, a walk of sweaty shame back inside to ask for help because I was stuck and my car was not drivable.

Do I have a meltdown or choose to see the positive and what I am grateful for at this crossroads? If you know me, I am rainbows and unicorns all day! Yes, it's not easy to be positive and happy in any circumstance; however, I have a choice. We all do. I chose to be grateful because I was safe; my client would drop me off at a restaurant to wait for my husband to pick me up, and the coverage on the car paid for the tow truck to tow the vehicle to the nearest dealer. Not to mention, having dinner without interruption (kids) was a win!

Choose to see the blessing in the trial. Yes, it is not easy by any means; however, I can tell you it ticks the enemy off when you smile and find joy even in life's most challenging and complicated chapters. When we choose to be positive, we change our perspective and circumstances immediately! It's in the face of adversity and we smile that people wonder what it is we have that gives us that strength, and the best part is, they want it for themselves too.

Blessings,

Marcie
